Examples of Protectionism in a sentence

Since many U.S. companies are having their products made overseas, protectionism forces these companies to pay more for those products coming back into the U.S.  
Due to protectionism, Kitchen Aid mixers are still made in the United States so that they don’t have to pay an import tax.  
Even though protectionism causes the Ford Motor Company to pay extra, they will still pay the extra money for their products to come back into this country.
